Wild Thistle Cake Design is a creative and quality-focused cake business, based in the picturesque town of Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire; delivering a delicious range of cakes and bakes for a variety of occasions.
Wild Thistle was founded in July 2018 and is run by cake enthusiasts Sophie and Chris. Since launching, we have offered bespoke cakes for weddings and celebrations, tailoring our designs and flavours to the needs of our clients for show-stopping results.
We pride ourselves in providing a wide variety of delicious cake flavours and use quality ingredients to create light, flavoursome sponges. Our aim is to deliver cakes that are beautiful to the eye and taste as good as they look.
Meet the Baker
Sophie
Hello, I’m Sophie, chief baker and designer at Wild Thistle Cake Design.
I am a Scotland-based cake designer in the beautiful village of Auchenblae. I have created cakes for birthdays, weddings, celebrations and corporate events and I love new challenges and design briefs. With a teaching background, I love to learn and nothing makes me happier than using new techniques and flavours in my cakes. Whether I'm in front of a chalk/white board or a cake board, for me every day is a school day.
I'm a people person and appreciate the importance of cakes and bakes in marking those special occasions, big and small, that bring people together. I love collaborating with my clients and ensure their cakes are perfectly suited to their requirements.
